Primary aldosteronism during pregnancy: Case report and literature review

We present the case of a 40-year-old woman who experienced severe hypertension during her first pregnancy. Hypertension persisted after delivery, prompting admission to Department Endocrinology and Metabolism at our hospital. Examination revealed an aldosterone-producing adenoma, she was diagnosed with primary aldosteronism. Her controlled using methyldopa. She became pregnant again in April 2019, ninth week pregnancy, underwent medical examination artery. Subsequently, methyldopa dose increased control hypertension. However, worsened, tested positive for urinary albumin, hospital 32 weeks gestation. oral medication changed nifedipine, which continued second delivery. persisted. Therefore, selective mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist administered, improved. Mineralocorticoid antagonists should be considered when blood pressure is poorly owing worsening
